In this second exhibition at Praz-Delavallade, Analia Saban presents a new series that deals with the moment when painting met photography. There was a conflict: even though photography was able to capture form better than painting, painting held the power of reproducing color. In terms of composition and subject matter, early photographs resemble the clichés of painting: still lives, nudes, and portraits, among others. Using these clichés, she intends to comment on the fundamental picture-making elements such as form, color, texture, and ground.
