High Noon Chorus explores the power of abstraction and its inherent vulnerability. Amelia Baxter's remarkable non-representational forms work harmoniously to dissolve the boundaries between the physical and the spiritual, creating a space where emotional connections can flourish between the work and the viewer. Each piece resonates with intention, evoking a profound response and forging a profound dialogue.

Baxter’s journey begins with an exploration of the repetition of words and sounds. As words are repeated, their meaning starts to dissipate, transforming into pure sound. This process, akin to the purpose of chanting, allows us to transcend the ordinary and immerse ourselves in the ethereal. Through this process, patterns come alive, expanding, and contracting like breath, unfolding in the mind's eye, creating a stage for fantasy, and revealing the infinite. Amelia's repetition of forms leads to a mesmerizing loss of meaning, leaving us immersed in the enchanting world of rhythms and pulses. Through a skillful deployment of scale, pattern, and repetition, Amelia intertwines constructed and natural associations, engaging viewers in a captivating dialogue that bridges historical traditions and contemporary methods of artistic production.

In its pure existence, art possesses a religious function and reminds us that objects hold intrinsic value before they become objects of utility. Beauty transcends visual pleasure, offering a profound sense of fullness and reflective gratitude. It carries a numinous quality that envelops us in the presence of something that affirms life and living. As we perceive beauty, we become both subject and object, longing for a merging that transcends our individuality. High Noon Chorus shows us the transformative power of art, liberating it from the confines of mere functionality.
